A Message From Leigh:
My name is Leigh Fleming Joyner, and I am so excited to serve as the Phi Lambda Sigma student intern. I grew up on a family farm in Manning, SC and I currently live in Lexington, SC with my husband, our dog, Lola, and our two cats, Mister and Storm. I completed 3 years of undergraduate school at Charleston Southern University in Charleston, SC before transferring to the University of South Carolina for pharmacy school. I am currently a P3 student, the Zeta chapter president of Phi Lambda Sigma as well as a South Carolina Pharmacy Association Junior Board Member. I am also involved in Omicron Delta Kappa, Student National Pharmaceutical Association, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, Phi Delta Chi Professional Pharmacy Fraternity, Pediatric Pharmacy Association and Student Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists. I am interested in pursuing a residency or a fellowship after graduation, but I am not yet sure of which field of pharmacy I want to pursue. Non-traditional pharmacy roles are currently the most appealing to me, but I am hopeful that my P4 rotations will help me find my niche.
When I get a break from studying, I love to spend my time being creative. I have numerous hobbies, but digital art, photography, and writing are what I enjoy most. I love learning new things and problem-solving. I am looking forward to sharing these talents and hobbies with Phi Lambda Sigma as their student intern and I cannot wait to serve the organization through this role.
