Phi Lambda Sigma, the Pharmacy Leadership Society, has announced the appointment of their Regional Liaisons for the 2020-2021 year. The Regional Liaisons serve a vital role in the Society as they interact with each collegiate chapter in their region to ensure seamless communication between the National Office and those chapters.
2020-2021 Phi Lambda Sigma Regional Liaisons:
Region 1: Shannon Lyn Bailey, Western New England University
Region 2: Jessica Phan, Virginia Commonwealth University
Region 3: Asia Johnson, University of South Carolina
Region 4: Jennifer Bingham, Shenandoah University
Region 5: Patty Maglalang, University of Minnesota
Region 6: Lamees Loubani, University of Houston
Region 7: Hanie Barakat, Medical University of South Carolina
Region 8: Tess Bernstein, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences
Jordan Ballou, PharmD, BCACP, serves as the Phi Lambda Sigma National President and said, “The National Executive Committee is so excited to the work with the newly appointed Regional Liaisons this year. We received many outstanding applications and this group of individuals has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to leadership and advancing the pharmacy profession. We are looking forward to a great year!” All of the newly appointed Regional Liaisons will begin working with the National Members-at- Large within the next month.
Phi Lambda Sigma was established in 1965 to develop leadership qualities among pharmacy students and pharmacists and to recognize leaders in the profession. The elected offices within the National Executive Committee also includes President: Jordan Ballou, PharmD, BCACP (University of Mississippi); Immediate Past-President: Brian Esters, PharmD, CPPS (James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, Johnson City, TN); President- Elect: Michael Mueller, PhD (LECOM – Bradenton Campus); Speaker of the House: Alakai Montalbo, PharmD Candidate (Idaho State University); Members-at-Large: Rashid Abdoh, PharmD Candidate (Texas A&M University) and Kira Voyer, PharmD Candidate (University of Buffalo). Appointed officers and staff members include Executive Director: Mary Euler, PharmD, FAPhA (West Virginia University); Director of Professional Development: Katelyn Shatz, PharmD, MBA, BCPS (Bay Pines VA Healthcare System, St. Petersburg, FL); Parliamentarian: Anthony Declue, PharmD (Medical University of South Carolina); and Treasurer: Brandon Jennings, PharmD, BCACP (Abilyn Consulting, LLC, Winchester, VA).
